Are you a Designer, or a Developer?
Saturday, September 16th, 2006Some of us in various web industries perform many tasks, while others are more specialized. Often there seems to be friction between web designers and web developers. For many, I believe this comes from a lack of understanding.
To relieve some of this friction, I suggest that web developers take a look at Dan Saffer’s recent article, Everything You Wanted to Know About Designers, on the Vitamin web site.
Using a bit of well-placed humor, and definite real-world knowledge of the production of web sites, Dan helps to explain a bit about why designers do what they do, and why developers might do well to respond a little differently at times. It is a tough business, and the level of co-operation between team members can make or break a project.
